Ancient & Classical India
- Āchārya Chanakya, also known as Kautilya or Vishnugupta (321–297 BCE) – Educated under his father Chanaka at home and later at Takṣaśilā – An ancient Indian teacher, philosopher, economist, and royal advisor.
- Ādi Śaṅkarācārya (8th century CE) – Educated in a traditional Gurukulam under Govinda Bhagavatpāda; traveled across India to establish Advaita Vedānta.
- Swami Vivekananda (1863–1902) – Though he later attended Western institutions, his formative years were deeply influenced by Gurukula-like training under Sri Ramakrishna.
